Ashlyn's Biography

Young Ashlyn Sanchez became interested in acting after seeing the off broadway production of The Lion King, she was only 6 years old. After securing an agent Ashlyn immediatly began to book numerous national commercials, which include Cannon, GMC, Life Cereal, McDonald’s, MCI and Comedy Central to name a few.

It was not until 2004 when Ashlyn booked her first feature film, that she began to shine in the spotlight. It was the Oscar award winning movie Crash in which Ashlyn played Lara A young girl whose father portrayed by actor Michael Pena worked as a locksmith trying to provide a better life for his family after moving to the Suburbs of Los Angeles, Ashlyn's performance received raves reviews with critics referring to her as "the heart and soul of the film".

In 2005 Ashlyn secured a small guest spot on the hit series Alias as young Renee, later that same year she also appeared on another great show CSI where she portrayed a young girl named April Torres.

The year 2006 was awesome for Ashlyn she worked on two independent films Marrying God in which she played the lead role of Lola a young hispanic girl getting ready for her first communion. Then there was Kill Your Darlings where she portrayed Meadow the daughter of a lebanese mobster. That same year she also secured 2 recurring roles one being The West Wing as Miranda Santos the daughter to presient elect Santos portrayed by veteran actor Jimmy Smits. There was also Vanished in which she played Inez Kelton the daughter of FBI agent.

In 2007 Ashlyn booked yet another independent film, Universal Signs for this role Ashlyn was required to learn American Sign Language, she portrayed Katie a young girl who drowned because her mother's hearing impaired boyfriend was unable to come to her rescue. Later in the year Ashlyn book yet another recurring guest role on a hit tv series, this one being Without A trace where she played Sofie Delgado the daughter of Elena Delgado portrayed by actress Roselyn Sanchez. One of her appearences on this show earned her a Young Artist Award nomination. Ashlyn also had a small guest spot on the short lived drama Raines where she played a girl named Grace Tobin.

2008 is looking to be Ashlyn's most promising year to date with her second feature and first starring role in a film being released this summer. It is the new horror film from director M Night Shyamalyn titled The Happening in this movie Ashlyn will portray Jess a young girl on the run with her father's best friend and his wife after finding out that their lives are in danger due to a life threating crisis.

When Ashlyn is not auditioning for new roles she is at school, where is in the 6th grade and apart of the GATE program. She spends much of her free time just being a normal little girl playing outside with her friends. She is a very adventrous young lady who loves to build forts and climb trees. She has a passion for sewing and loves to read books about vampires. Ashlyn is also a vivd animal lover, her mother calls her an "walking encyclopedia" when it comes to animal facts! She also collects insects and has them on different displays in her home, she added quite a few new ones to her collection while filming The Happening in Pennslyvania. There are so many things this young ten year old has going for her it's unbelieveable. When she grows up she would really like to be a veternarian. Although Ashlyn has been acting for six years this only the beginning for her there is no doubt we will continue to see her star shine even brighter in the years to come.

Ashlyn resides in California with her mother, father and younger sister Madeline.
